On behalf of a modern and well-equipped hospital in Østfold, Eastern Norway, we are currently recruiting a specialist in geriatrics for a full-time, permanent position.
The hospital has one of the largest emergency departments in Norway and offers services across a wide range of medical fields – including maternity care, medical and surgical departments and psychiatry. The position is part of a well-established geriatrics department with a strong focus on quality of care, interdisciplinary collaboration, and continuous development.
Main responsibilities:
Assessment, treatment, and follow-up of geriatric patient
Collaborating with fellow consultants and interdisciplinary teams
Contributing to continuous improvement and development of services
Qualifications:
Authorization to practice as a medical doctor within the EU
EU certification as a specialist in geriatrics
Experience from hospital work is preferred
Strong communication skills and willingness to collaborate across disciplines
Proficiency in English and motivation to learn Norwegian, supported by our free language course
Personal qualities:
Able to work independently, while also demonstrating strong collaboration skills across professional groups
Responsible, decisive and adaptable, with the ability to handle a high-paced work environment
Motivated by contributing to the improvement of healthcare services
Strong communicator who values clear and respectful dialogue with patients, families and colleagues
